General Motors number #1 Auto manufacturer in the world

Japan had a hard time last year (2011) because of the things like earthquakes, tsunamis and of course the nuclear issues. This hurt companies like Toyota, not only in Japan but also in places like Thailand where many popular car manufacturing zones experienced massive flooding. At the end of the year we saw GM proclaimed as the number #1 auto manufacturer for that year with sales figures for automobiles exceeding 9 million. The figures also take into account the manufacturing done in China.

Car manufacturing seems to be profitable again in the United States with certain manufacturers and this could mean more jobs for Americans and automakers are not the only ones to be in the headlines considering the recent news of Apple's explosive earnings. This certainly is an about change from what we have seen in the last decade where jobs were created overseas at the expense of local American talent. As an example, new contracts in place with the United Auto Workers Union and the three big Detroit manufacturers GM, Ford and Chrysler will bring back jobs to locals because there will be more workers needed on assembly lines.

No grand Auto Show is worthy of being classified as a real Auto show without beautiful models. With the higher expectations we are all having for the Auto Industry in the United States in 2012, we should expect to see a whole host of new models standing next to beautiful cars and reminding us that great cars always come with women. Who knows which car Lady Gaga is going endorse next? Does anyone know if she is being sponsored by Ford, Chrysler or GM?
